Job description

**Videographer / Video Editor, Full Time In House (Downtown LA)** ***\*PLEASE READ ALL OF THE BELOW OR DO NOT APPLY*** WatchGuys · 613 S. Hill St., Los Angeles, CA 90014 $30\.00 to $35\.00 per hour plus overtime · $75,000 to $95,000 annually at a typical schedule Health insurance · Eligible for dental, vision, life insurance, IRA and retirement plans · Eligible for bonus On site, 5 days per week, up to 6 as needed **Hiring immediately. We are interviewing this week, with a target start date the first week of October.** **This is a career, not a gig.** Most video work in Los Angeles is project based. One week you are booked solid, the next week you are chasing an invoice and wondering where December went. This role is the opposite. Same building, same team, same paycheck, every single week. If you are ready to stop freelancing and start building something over years, keep reading. **Who we are** WatchGuys is a one of the largest Luxury Watch resellers in the nation. We buy, sell and trade high end timepieces, and we put a camera on all of it. Our YouTube series *Selling Time*, now in Season 4, films the real deals and negotiations happening on our floor. Our celebrity series *My Collection* sits down with names like Rick Ross, Terence Crawford, DDG, Shakur Stevenson, Blac Chyna etc and goes through their watches piece by piece. **Your work will be seen.** We have built a real audience across every platform: * **Instagram: 315,000 followers** * **YouTube: 110,000 subscribers** * **Facebook: 100,000\+ followers** * **TikTok: 40,000\+ followers** That is over 565,000 people, and the number climbs every week. Nothing you cut here sits in a folder. It gets clipped, it publishes, and it gets watched by millions. If you are tired of shooting corporate work that 40 people see, this is the opposite problem. **What you will actually do** This is a shoot and edit role, every day, in our office. You are the person behind the camera when a deal goes down, and the person in Premiere that night turning it into an episode. Roughly half your week is production and half is post. * Film in our office every day: live deals and negotiations with customers, behind the scenes, and evergreen content * Shoot and produce *Selling Time*, our weekly YouTube series * Shoot *My Collection*, our celebrity watch series * Edit full length YouTube episodes start to finish: cut, color and finish what you shoot * Cut verticals from that same footage for Instagram Reels and TikTok. This is a real part of the job, not an afterthought, and you need to understand what makes a vertical hold attention in the first three seconds * Run lighting and audio properly on every shoot * Contribute to character development across the series so our on camera personalities keep getting better * Build an evergreen library that keeps earning long after it posts * Shoot high quality shots of watches using Macro Lens * Able to take direction and work fast * Able to go from editing to shooting and back and forth as customers walk in and out **What you need to be comfortable with** We own the gear. You do not need to bring a kit. You do need to walk in and run ours like it is yours. * **Camera.** Sony FX6 and Sony A7S III. If you have not touched these exact bodies, you should be fluent on comparable professional cinema and mirrorless cameras and able to pick these up fast * **Lighting.** Comfortable running large light setups, not just a key light and good intentions * **Audio.** Boom mics, lav placement, monitoring, and the discipline to fix sound on set instead of in post * **Editing.** Strong Adobe Premiere Pro required. After Effects preferred. A real eye for color * **Verticals.** Confident cutting for Reels and TikTok, not just landscape YouTube * **Composure.** You will be in the room with A list talent. Calm, professional, invisible when the moment calls for it **The strongest candidates for this role** * 5 or more years of professional video experience * Reliable, full stop. You show up, every scheduled day * Good at taking direction. We have a house style and a clear vision, and we need someone who can execute it, then build on it * Fast under pressure. Deals do not wait for you to be ready, and episodes ship on a schedule * Have a car, or can commute reliably to Downtown LA by train * **Punctual.** We mean this one. More than 10 minutes late is a problem, and a pattern of it ends the job **Content ownership, please read this before applying** WatchGuys owns all footage, raw files, project files and finished content created in this role, and WatchGuys distributes all of it. That means: * You may not post, publish, upload or share any WatchGuys footage or content on your own accounts, reels, portfolio, website or social media * You may not release behind the scenes material, celebrity footage or anything filmed in our office * Everything shot here goes out through our channels, on our schedule, and nowhere else This is not negotiable and it is written into the offer. If you are looking for a role that builds your personal portfolio with celebrity footage, this is not that job. If you are looking for a stable career where the company owns the work and you own a paycheck, benefits and a real schedule, apply. **Compensation and benefits** * $30\.00 per hour to start, with a path to $35\.00\. * Overtime paid at California rates * Health insurance * Eligible for dental, vision and life insurance * IRA and retirement plans offered * Eligible for bonus * A consistent schedule you can plan a life around **Before you apply, watch the work** We only want to talk to people who have seen what we make. On our YouTube channel, watch: * *My Collection* with Rick Ross * *My Collection* with Blac Chyna * Three recent episodes of *Selling Time*, Season 4 Then tell us, in your own words, whether you can edit to that level. Visit our Instagram, and watch 10\-15 Reels, can you shoot and edit at this level. if you cannot, do not apply! **How to apply** * Send your resume * Send a reel or two to three links to work you shot *and* edited yourself, and tell us which parts were yours * Answer this in a few sentences: why should we hire you, and why are you ready for full time? Background check required. Resume required. We read every application that follows these three steps and we skip the ones that do not. **Apply now. This seat is filling fast.** We are reviewing applications as they come in and moving quickly, not sitting on this for a quarter. * Applications received by **Monday, September 15** get priority review * Phone screens happen the same week you apply * In person interviews at our Downtown LA showroom the week after * Target start date is the first week of October We are only bringing a handful of people in for in person interviews, and we are booking those in the order strong applications arrive. If your reel and resume are ready, send them today. Every day you wait, someone else is booking the slot. One full time seat. One team. If this is the career move you have been waiting for, do not sit on it. **Send your resume, reel and your answer to robertino@watchguys.com with the subject line VIDEOGRAPHER.** Pay: $30\.00 \- $35\.00 per hour Expected hours: 40\.0 – 50\.0 per week Benefits: * 401(k) * Dental insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Retirement plan * Vision insurance Work Location: In person

Most film work goes to someone they already know. This is where that happens on purpose.
