Job description

Nuslist is building a new way to experience independent video news. We organize the best analysis from across the creator ecosystem into clear, structured video playlists that help audiences understand major stories through multiple voices and angles. The Video Editor will be responsible for producing Nuslist’s core video product: polished playlist compilations built from shorter clips selected from longer\-form videos. The editorial curation, clip selection, story structure, and sequencing will be led by Nuslist. The editor’s responsibility is to execute quickly, cleanly, and consistently, turning curated materials into a professional viewing experience. **This is a full\-time position that begins with a part\-time trial period. We offer competitive compensation during the initial 60 to 90 day trial. Upon transition to full\-time status, the role offers a base salary of $65,000 to $85,000\+ plus early\-stage equity participation.** **Core responsibilities** * Assemble pre\-selected clips into full nuslist playlist videos. * Edit 30 to 90 minute playlist videos from a large number of shorter source clips. * Follow a provided story order, outline, and editorial structure. * Add consistent on\-screen attribution for each clip, including creator name, channel name, and source. * Apply nuslist branding, intro cards, section titles, lower thirds, transitions, and end cards. * Clean up pacing, audio levels, cuts, visual consistency, and overall presentation. * Export videos in formats suitable for YouTube, website, social clips, and internal review. * Turn around edits quickly, especially for timely news topics. * Maintain organized project files, source files, exports, and naming conventions. * Build repeatable templates so future playlists can be produced faster over time. **Ideal candidate profile** * Strong video editing experience, especially with YouTube, news, explainers, podcasts, interviews, or documentary\-style content. * Very fast in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro, or other. * Comfortable working with many source videos in a single project. * Strong eye for clean, professional presentation. * Able to follow detailed editorial instructions without needing to make the core editorial decisions. * Reliable, organized, and comfortable with recurring production deadlines. * Good judgment around attribution, source labeling, and brand consistency. * Interest in independent media, news, politics, culture, economics, or public affairs.
